The leading housing finance company has hit the said milestone in less than a year since the launch of the Roshni Home Loans, which caters to the affordable residential property segment.
With the ₹1,000 crore milestone, the housing finance arm of state-owned Punjab National Bank indicates its focus on financial inclusion by offering small ticket-size loans in the range of ₹5-35 lakh for either purchasing homes, plots, loans related to construction and renovation, the company said in a filing to the stock exchanges.
The company has set an aim to bolster its distribution network by putting in place a total of 160 Roshni-focused branches by the end of the current financial year 2024.
“There is a strong demand for affordable housing in the country, owing to the rapid rate of urbanization, growing younger population, increasing per capita income and higher demand of housing units beyond the metro cities,” said the MD and CEO of PNB Housing Finance, Girish Kousgi.
The company also informed the bourses that it recently inaugurated its 100th Roshni branch, which is also the housing finance major’s first-ever all-women branch. PNB Housing Finance plans to extend its distribution network by opening up an additional 60 branches across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in the country.
Shares of PNB Housing Finance were trading 1.21% lower at ₹785.3 per piece on the BSE at 2:10 PM.
