Since September 2023, government employees across the country have organised protests for their demand, with the last unrest happening in Assam last week when they staged demonstrations in front of several offices.

In November 2023, several thousands of employees and pensioners of both the Union government and State governments gathered at the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, demanding the Centre to bring back the OPS immediately.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Ltd. saw 2.2 crore shares or 0.6% of the total equity change hands multiple large trades on Tuesday.

Shares changed hands at an average price of ₹4,043 per share, taking the total transaction value to ₹8,894 crore. The offer price for the transaction was fixed at ₹4,001 per share, which was a 3.45% discount to Monday's closing price.

Buyers in the transaction are not immediately known.

The NDA on Monday announced its seat-sharing arrangement in Bihar, with BJP set to contest on 17 seats, JD(U) on 16 seats, and Chirag Paswan led Lok Jan Shakti party to field candidates on 5 seats.

The Election Commission announced the transfer of home secretaries in 6 states, West Bengal DGP Rajeev Kumar, and BMC commissioner Iqbal Chahal. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed public meetings in Telangana and Karnataka, and conducted roadshow in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Earlier in the day, Tamilisai Soundararajan resigned from the post of Telangana Governor and Puducherry Lieutenant Governor. She is likely to contest the General Elections.
