Laxman J Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of Mold-Tek Packaging, shared details with CNBC-TV18 on the company's new capacities following the inauguration of three new plants in the past week.
Two of these plants were established for the Aditya Birla Group, specifically to meet the needs of the paints division of Grasim Industries, while the third was dedicated to a pharma packaging unit. All three plants are set to commence commercial production in the coming weeks.
Discussing the significance of the paints and lubricants business, Rao noted, "Currently, paint contributes only 50%, but when we consider all paints combined with lubricants, it adds up to nearly 70%."

Rao expects the pharma sector, food and FMCG businesses to start contributing to the earnings soon. He anticipates a shift from the current 70% reliance on paints to a potential 60%, with the remaining 40% coming from pharma and food, within the next three years.
The company has market capitalisation of 2,906.56 crore.
