The Income Tax department conducted raids at the outlets of popular Bengaluru eatery Meghana Foods outlets in the early hours of Tuesday, March 19. The raids were carried out at the Koramangala, Jayanagar and Indiranagar outlets by Karnataka and Goa IT teams on suspicion of alleged tax evasion.

The Hyderabad-headquartered food chain owned by Padma Atluri and Rambabu Mandava specialises in Andhra cuisine and is popular for its biryani. The restaurant was first set up in 2006, at Koramangala, Bengaluru. Today Meghana Foods has five branches in the city.
