August month saw the lowest merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions in 2018, said Grant Thornton on Friday.
According to a Grant Thornton report, M&A transactions saw a drop of about 30 percent both in terms of volume and value as compared to August 2017.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Pankaj Chopda, director, said, "I would not call it a real dip as such. If you look at August 2017, essentially it had two large transactions of about $3.8 billion; SoftBank’s investment in Flipkart and GIC’s investment in DLF."
Chopda said, "If I exclude these two transactions from August 2017, we are almost at the same level as 2018."
