Industrialist Gautam Adani on Wednesday announced an investment of over Rs 2 lakh crore in Gujarat, largely in building a green energy park that would be visible even from space. The investment will create one lakh jobs, the chairman of the apples-to-airport Adani group said during his address at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 in Gandhinagar.
Adani said that the Adani Group has already spent Rs 50,000 crore of the Rs 55,000 crore the group committed at the last summit.
He added that the Adani Group is now building a green energy park in Kutch with a 30 GW capacity spread over 25 square kilometers, which would also be visible from space.
The summit is attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several Union ministers, and a host of dignitaries from across the globe. Adani also said that the latest edition of the summit has the hallmark signature of PM Modi.
“Honourable Prime Minister, Vibrant Gujarat is a stunning manifestation of your extraordinary vision. It has all your hallmark signatures; massive scale, meticulous governance, and flawless execution,” Gautam Adani, Chairman, Adani Group, said at the inauguration of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024.
Since 2014, India has achieved 185% growth in GDP and 165% growth in per capita income, which is unparalleled given the geopolitical and pandemic-related challenges, Adani said.
On Wednesday, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani said the oil-to-telecom conglomerate has invested about ₹12 lakh crore to create world-class assets across India and that over one-third of its assets are invested in Gujarat alone.
