UltraTech Cement Q3 sales volume up 6% to 27.32 million tonnes

Cement maker UltraTech Cement on Monday (January 1) said its consolidated sales rose 6% to 27.32 million tonnes (MT) year-on-year in the third quarter ended December 31, 2023.

Total sales volume in the domestic market was up 5% to 26.06 MT during the quarter under review, the Aditya Birla Group firm said in its sales volume data filed on bourses.
Its grey cement production in the domestic market was at 25.44 MT in the December quarter FY24, a 5% growth, while its white cement production was at 0.48 MT, up 18%. The company's overseas production, mainly grey cement was 1.38 MT in Q3 of FY24, up 20%, it said.
UltraTech Cement reported a 68.75% jump in consolidated net profit at ₹1,280.38 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2023, led by a strong volume growth. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of ₹758.7 crore in the July-September quarter last fiscal.
Revenue from operation was up 15.25% at ₹16,012.13 crore during the period under review against ₹13,892.69 crore in the year-earlier period, it added. UltraTech’s “rural sales were at 63% of trade, grew at 15% for the quarter,” it added.
Its consolidated sales volume in the September quarter was 26.69 MT. Total expenses in the second quarter were higher at ₹14,493.01 crore, compared to ₹12,934.27 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, the company said.
The company has a consolidated capacity of 137.85 MT per annum (MTPA) of grey cement. It has 23 integrated manufacturing units, 29 grinding units, one clinkerisation unit, and eight bulk packaging terminals. UltraTech is the third largest cement producer in the world, excluding China.
Shares of UltraTech Cement Ltd ended at ₹10,461.30, up by ₹41.85, or 0.40%, on the BSE.
