The home services unicorn Urban Company unveiled the UC Partner Earnings Index for the second half of the calendar year 2023 on March 27. But, that's not all.

The report revealed that the top 20% of UC service partners raked in an average of 42,792 per month in the second half of the last year. That's 50% higher than the average earnings of entry-level IT jobs in India.
Urban Company is also outperforming its competition when it comes to gig workers' pay. A quick comparison with gig workers on food delivery platforms reveals that UC service partners earned over 82% more than their counterparts in the food delivery gig economy.
And here's a positive twist. When it comes to gender, Urban Company's female partners are outshining their male counterparts, earning 23% more per hour. Overall, the partner earnings have grown steadily with an average increase of 16% from October-November-December (OND) CY21 to OND CY23, according to the report.
But it's not just about the earnings.
According to the company, more than ₹5.51 crore were disbursed as insurance claims, benefiting more than 1,900 service partners. Another 31.16 crores worth of loans were given out to the partners.
The gig worker aggregator also conducted financial awareness workshops across 12 cities, investing over 14,000 hours to train its service partners in modern finance management techniques, and launched an industry-first Partner Stock Option Plan, empowering over 500 service partners with stock options.
But one of the most heartening initiatives was the 'Chhota Kaam' campaign, championing the dignity of labour and mutual respect across all professions.
