State-owned Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) on Monday (December 11) said the company in collaboration with URC Construction Pvt Ltd (URC) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a crucial project under the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation.

The project, valued at ₹543 crore, involves the "part design and construction of elevated viaduct, five elevated metro rail stations, and ramp" for the Indore Metro Rail Project.


The scope of work encompasses the design and construction of an elevated viaduct and five elevated metro rail stations strategically located at Shaheed Bagh, Khajrana Chauraha, Bengali Chauraha, Patrakar Colony, and Palasia Chauraha.

Additionally, the project includes the construction of a ramp between chainages — all crucial components contributing to the progress of the Indore Metro Rail infrastructure. The timeline for the execution of this substantial order is set at 1,092 days.

The foundation stone for the first phase of Indore’s metro rail project at a cost of 7,500.80 crore was laid on September 14, 2019, and the total network planned will be 31.50 km.

Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd ended at ₹178.25, up by ₹7.05, or 4.12%, on the BSE.
