Cement maker Ramco Cements Ltd on Friday (December 8) said it recently completed a significant upgrade at its Kolimigundla cement plant in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district.
The focal point of this improvement was the de-bottlenecking of the Pyro Processing System, a critical aspect of the cement production process, Ramco said, adding that as a result, the revised clinkerisation capacity has surged to 3.15 million metric tonnes per annum (MTPA).
"At our Kolimigundla Cement Plant, we had made de-bottlenecking of the Pyro Processing System. With this de-bottlenecking, the revised clinkerisation capacity is 3.15 MTPA," Ramco Cements Ltd said in a regulatory filing.
This was further cemented by the acquisition of the "Consent to Operate" from the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board on December 7, 2023.
The Kolimigundla plant is the fifth integrated cement plant operated by Ramco Cements. The 2.50 MTPA of clinkerisation was commissioned in April 2022 and the 1.50 MTPA of cement grinding was commissioned in September 2022. The project cost of the plant is ₹3,000 crore.
The cement manufactured from this plant will be marketed in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, north Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.
Shares of Ramco Cements Ltd ended at ₹1,021.00, down by ₹1.55, or 0.15%, on the BSE.
