Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd (TPSSL) on Friday (December 15) said the company has signed a contract to supply 152 MWp DCR Solar PV Modules for NTPC Ltd's Nokh solar PV project in Rajasthan. The contract is valued at approximately ₹418 crore.
NTPC is actively engaged in the development of the Nokh Solar Park at Pokaran, in Jaisalmer district, Rajasthan, with a total capacity of 735 MW. The entire project is set to leverage DCR (domestic content requirement) category bi-facial mono-PERC modules, aligning with the latest advancements in solar technology.
Manufactured in India, these solar panels, inclusive of cells and modules, adhere to the DCR policy. TPSSL's solar cell and module manufacturing plant in Bengaluru will be the source of the 152 MWp DCR solar PV modules for the Nokh solar PV project.
This contract strengthens TPSSL's position in the renewable energy sector and its commitment to fostering the growth of clean energy. The company's solar EPC portfolio boasts over 12.5 GWp of ground-mount utility-scale, 2 GW of rooftop and distributed ground-mounted systems, and an extensive network of solar water pumps.
As a leading integrated power producer, NTPC plays a crucial role in India's energy landscape, and this collaboration with TPSSL marks another stride towards the nation's sustainable energy objectives.
Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TREPL).
Shares of Tata Power Company Ltd ended at ₹333.20, down by ₹2.10, or 0.63%, on the BSE.
