The new product is specifically targeted at Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that prioritise data security for their businesses but operate on limited IT budgets and are hesitant to invest in large data centres.
Arshad Fakhri, President of PROSE Technologies India, highlighted the key features of the Khipu Micro Data Center. The compact and plug-and-play solution takes up less space than its predecessors and comes equipped with all the necessary components. It is expected to potentially reduce operational costs by 20-30%. The equipment includes built-in firewalls, fire extinguishing systems, and a user-friendly power system. Notably, Fakhri emphasised the uniqueness of the inbuilt cooling system, which sets this product apart from most others in the market.
As PROSE Technologies enters this new market, the storage and connectivity solutions player has ambitious goals, aiming for a market share of 10-15% in the first year for their innovative product. Fakhri considers the compact design, among other new features, a compelling selling point that positions them ahead of their competitors. Although the company is still assessing the market landscape given its broad target audience, they have already received numerous inquiries from both Indian and overseas prospects.
While the company is actively pursuing business opportunities, Fakhri clarified that the capital expenditure for this new product is comparable to that of competitors. However, the operational cost is significantly lower. With an open-minded approach to market entry, Fakhri refrained from commenting on the Data Protection Bill, citing the need for a more comprehensive understanding of its implications.
