ICICI Lombard has announced the resignation of Bhargav Dasgupta from the designation of MD and CEO of the company. ICICI Lombard also mentioned that Dasgupta will be officiating his responsibilities till his last working day.
The board of directors of the company has accepted the resignation of Bhargav Dasgupta and revealed his intention to pursue opportunities abroad as the reason for his resignation. Bhargav Dasgupta, who held the post of MD and CEO of the insurance company for nearly 14 years, would have ended his term in April 2024.
ICICI Lombard is in the process of filling the vacancy following the resignation of the longstanding MD and CEO.
In his letter, Dasgupta said, "I am writing to tender my resignation as Managing Director & CEO of ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited, to pursue a career opportunity outside the country. It has been an honour to lead ICICI Lombard for more than 14 years and to serve the 32 million policyholders who trust us for their insurance needs."
Shares of ICICI Lombard had ended 1.5 percent lower on Thursday at Rs 1,355.
