Vistara, the joint venture airline between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, on Wednesday, said it's temporarily suspending its international operations from March 20, 2020, to March 31, 2020, due to coronavirus situation.
"Due to the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 pandemic on border controls and air travel across the world, Vistara is temporarily suspending its international operations from 20 March 2020 to 31 March 2020," Vistara spokesperson said.
The airline has also temporarily adjusted domestic capacity for the months of March and April 2020 in view of reduced demand.
Customers booked on the affected flights will be fully refunded and the airline will continue to monitor the evolving situation and may make further capacity adjustments, Vistara cautioned.
On March 17, GoAir had suspended international operations till April 15 and had also asked support from the government to keep airlines afloat in the country.
Today, aviation consultancy firm CAPA said that some airlines in India may shut down due to lack of cash if the government does not intervene.
