Budget carrier SpiceJet on Friday (January 12) announced a special flight operation from Delhi to Ayodhya for January 21, 2024 — a day before the pran pratishta or the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
SpiceJet has also confirmed the availability of a return flight to provide seamless connectivity for devotees willing to be a part of this event, according to an official.
The special flight from Delhi is scheduled to depart from Delhi at 1.30 pm and reach Ayodhya by 3 pm. The return flight, scheduled for January 22, will take off at 5 pm from Ayodhya and arrive in Delhi at 6.30 pm.
Ajay Singh, Chairman and MD, SpiceJet, said this is a moment of pride for every Indian. He added that the budget airline is honoured to play a role in connecting devotees attending this event and providing a comfortable and efficient travel experience.
Singh further stressed that SpiceJet is expected to connect Ayodhya to multiple cities across the nation, for which the details will be announced shortly.
In the annual general meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, January 10, the airline revealed its plans to launch flights to Lakshadweep in the near future. Singh also unveiled the airline’s plans for growth and network expansion, spurred by a fund infusion of ₹2,250 crore.
