The IRP of Go First has written to the DGCA and ministry of civil aviation seeking permission to fly planes where the lease has been terminated, people in the know told CNBC-TV18.
The lessors have submitted before the NCLT, NCLAT that the existing rules bar flying of planes without a valid lease. The aircraft lessors claimed that the lease had been terminated before the insolvency proceedings commenced.
The IRP claimed that without flying the existing planes it would be challenging to maintain the status of the airline as going concern.
The NCLT had directed the Go First IRP to maintain the status of the airline as a "going concern". The former has claimed that the DGCA's and the government's nod to fly the planes with terminated leases will allow for faster resumption of flight operations..
The IRP is also moving consistute COC and the latter's first meeting is likely to be held within the nxt two weeks.
