SpiceJet on Monday assured that its chairman and promoter Ajay Singh will make Rs 100 crore payment to media baron Kalanithi Maran in compliance with earlier Delhi HC order.

The low-cost airline had paid Rs 62.5 crore as of today and promised to deposit the remaining balance by the end of the day. The promise was made after the court asked Singh and SpiceJet to pay the remaining money by the end of the day or by the next day.
During the hearing, Ajay Singh's lawyer also informed the court of carrying a cheque for Rs 37.5 crore in Maran’s name. Earlier, Delhi's top court had warned SpiceJet of attachment of assets, in case the airline fails to pay Rs 100 crore to Kalanithi Maran of KAL Airways by September 10.
The next hearing of the case is now scheduled on October 3.
