A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight returned to the Patna airport minutes after the take-off on Wednesday (January 3). The Airbus 320 aircraft, with 187 people on board, landed safely at 12.58 PM after developing a technical snag.
“The pilots of Indigo 6E2074, Patna-Delhi flight, after departure from Patna at 12:58 pm, requested to return to Patna due to a technical problem. The aircraft landed back safely at Patna,” Patna airport director Anchal Prakash informed.
As per media reports, the pilots reported the snag in one of the engines and requested for priority landing back at Patna’s Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport. All passengers were safe, the reports said.
Among the passengers were two senior leaders of Bihar, Minister Sanjay Jha, and JD(U) MP Sunil Kumar Pintu from Sitamarhi. The Bihar Minister informed that there was no harm to him or any other passenger. The aircraft was grounded at the time of filing this report.
