Tata Group's low-cost carrier, Air India Express, announced on Monday a significant increase in its flights for the upcoming summer schedule. The airline will operate 360 daily flights, marking a 25% increase in domestic flights and a 20% increase in international flights compared to the summer schedule of 2023.

The airline will add 55 domestic flights and 19 international flights this summer, bringing the total to 259 domestic and 109 international departures for the summer schedule of 2024.
The increased frequencies will cover both domestic and international destinations, including Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Jeddah, and Sharjah.
Indian cities like Ayodhya, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kannur, Kolkata, Kochi, Mangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, and Varanasi will also see increased frequencies.
In addition to the increased flight schedule, Air India Express introduced a new fare family last week.
Passengers now have four options to choose from: Xpress Lite (cabin baggage only fares), Xpress Value (15 kg check-in bag fares), Xpress Flex (unlimited changes with no change fees), and Xpress Biz (business class seating with complimentary Gourmair meals and priority services).
As part of the upcoming Holi celebrations, the airline has added the traditional Indian sweet “Gujia” to its award-winning in-flight dining menu, ‘Gourmair,’ promising guests a gastronomic experience.
Meanwhile, India's largest airline IndiGo recently announced plans to introduce new routes for both domestic and international flights during the summer season.
Private carrier SpiceJet also announced that it has completed lease agreements for 10 aircraft in preparation for the upcoming summer schedule, typically characterised by increased demand.
