Uno Minda, a leading player in the space of proprietary automotive solutions and systems supply to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), is gearing up for a transformative journey in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. In a recent interview with CNBC-TV18, Sunil Bohra, Group Chief Financial Officer & CEO, Uno Minda, said that the company's EV revenues will exceed Rs 2,500 crore by the fiscal year 2026.

Sharing some exciting insights into the company's ambitious plans for the EV segment, Bohra emphasised Uno Minda's readiness for the electric future  stating; "We have built a complete EV 2-wheeler and EV 3-wheeler as a technical demonstrator."
Currently, the contribution of EV segment to Uno Minda's overall revenue stands at 11-12 percent. However, Bohra indicated that the company expects this contribution to increase significantly as they expand their EV product portfolio. Uno Minda is not limiting its efforts to two-wheelers and three-wheelers; they are also actively working on products for four-wheeler EVs.
“It is not that we are only in two and three-wheelers, we are also working on a lot of our products for four-wheeler EV, which we will definitely come out in due course,” he said.
A key factor driving Uno Minda's optimism about the EV segment is the substantial increase in the kit value for EV products compared to traditional internal combustion engines (ICE). Bohra explained, "Our kit value is almost 3X to our ICE engine in terms of EV products."
To put this into perspective, the current kit value for ICE engines is approximately Rs 10,000, whereas for EV 2-wheelers, it stands at Rs 35,000 per vehicle.
