Tata Motors has taken a significant stride in the electric vehicle (EV) market with the launch of its latest offering, the Punch EV.

Based on the Acti.EV architecture, this new entrant promises an impressive driving range of 421 kilometres and comes loaded with a host of intriguing features. However, the question that lingers is whether it stands up to the benchmark set by its predecessor, the Nexon EV.
At first glance, the Punch EV adopts a familiar face reminiscent of its older sibling, the Nexon EV. LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) with welcome and goodbye sequences, smart charging indicators, and LED projector headlamps with cornering fog lamps contribute to a design that echoes the successful Nexon EV.
Stepping inside, the Punch EV undergoes a significant interior transformation. The dashboard has been completely redesigned, featuring the Nexon's illuminated steering wheel, a larger 10.24-inch HD infotainment screen, and a 10-inch digital cockpit offering multiple layouts. This overhaul enhances the overall driving experience and brings a touch of sophistication to the interiors.
Tata Motors prioritizes safety with the Punch EV, equipping it with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard. Higher trims or personas offer additional safety features, including an SOS call function, rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring.
One of the standout features of the Punch EV is Tata Electric's claim that users can achieve a range of 100 kilometres with just 10 minutes of fast charging.
The vehicle is available with two battery options – a standard 25 kWh pack and a Long-range version with a 35 kWh pack. The smaller pack provides a range of 315 km, while the larger one extends the range to an impressive 421 km.
