Homegrown car manufacturer Tata Motors has achieved a significant production milestone with its Punch SUV. The company has rolled out three lakh units of the Punch SUV, its smallest offering in India, which competes with the likes of Hyundai Exter.
Currently, Punch SUV is offered in four trims spread across eight variants, with prices starting from ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Pure variant and going up to ₹9.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top Creative (0) variant.

The Punch SUV is available in both ICE and CNG versions, with an all-electric version set to launch later this year. The Punch EV is expected to offer a range of more than 300 km on a single charge in the long-range version.

The homegrown automaker achieved this milestone at the start of the year, with the company selling one lakh Punch SUVs within the last nine months. Interestingly, Tata’s Punch SUV is one of the best-selling vehicles in the country and has regularly been in the list of top 10-selling cars.
The Punch SUV, launched in October 2021, took 10 months to reach its one lakh production milestone. It took another five months to rack up the next 50,000 in January last year. By the end of May, it had reached the two lakh production milestone.
The Punch SUV’s success can be attributed to its features, such as push-button start, automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, auto-folding ORVMs, cooled glovebox, rear-seat armrest, and a seven-inch infotainment screen.
The Punch SUV is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, mated to a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. It also comes with Tata’s iCNG technology, which offers a dual-cylinder setup.
