France’s largest carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroen announced that it will launch its first offering for India, the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Carlos Tavares, chairman of the managing board, Groupe PSA, said, "We will bring four products to the Indian market over four years."
"From day one, we wanted to focus on human-centric brand. We are very much focused on comfort, very much focused on everything that makes the use of the car very enjoyable,” he added.
In 2017, PSA Groupe had announced a partnership with CK Birla Group to re-enter the Indian market and earmarked an initial investment of 100 million euros to set up a plant for vehicle and powertrain manufacturing in Tamil Nadu.
In 2018, the Citroen brand sold 1.05 million vehicles in over 90 markets.
