SAIC-owned Morris Garages (MG) Motor on Thursday said it has received around 8,000 bookings for SUV Hector and is working to ramp up production at Halol plant in Gujarat.

In an interview to CNBC-TV118's Alisha Sachdev, Gaurav Gupta, chief commercial officer, said, "We have announced the second shift from November onwards, which again gets ramped up over time. Once this starts to build up, we hope to look at on a sustained basis for 2020."
"Currently, we are operating in one shift. However, we were able to talk to all our global suppliers like Bosch etc. and they have also ramped up production. It is not very easy to go into the second shift as it is not just about hiring manpower, you have to make sure that your suppliers are able to ramp up at their end as well. Then comes the logistics to support it and then the last leg is our end."
