The collaboration between Mercedes Benz and AMG has been significantly influenced by the pivotal role played by the Mercedes C-class AMG models. The inception of this iconic partnership can be traced back to the introduction of the C36 AMG. Subsequently, the C63 AMG, with its wild nature, earned a place in the automotive legend's record books. Bridging the gap between the standard C-class and the formidable C63 AMG is the C43 AMG, a model that has often lingered in the shadows.

However, the new 2023 C43 AMG may not scream "AMG," but it manages to carve out a distinct niche for itself and, more importantly, capture attention. The subtle yet sporty exterior features, vertical slats on the radiator grille and a modest wing on the boot lid, create a refined look. Notably, the four exhaust tailpipes beneath the rear bumper serve as a clear indicator of its performance potential and underline its AMG pedigree.
Beneath the hood, the 2023 C43 AMG heralds a significant shift in AMG philosophy. While the previous model of C43 AMG relied on V6 engines, the new model boasts a 1,991cc, 4-cylinder electric turbocharged engine. This powerhouse generates a maximum power of 408PS at 6,750 rpm and a peak torque of 500 Nm at 5,000 rpm, propelling the car from 0 to 100 in a mere 4.6 seconds.
Is this transformation the most noteworthy among the models? Overdrive’s Rohit Paradkar provides a comprehensive review.
