India's largest carmaker manufacturer Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday reported sales of 164,369 units of passenger vehicles in July.
This includes 154,150 units in the domestic market and 10,219 units of exports, the company said in a statement.
The sales are marginally down when compared with 165,346 units in the same month last year.
Growth was largely affected by weak sales in the cars such as Alto, WagonR, Ciaz, Ertiga, Vitara Brezza, while the compact segment such as Swift, Dzire and Baleno contributed the most to the numbers with 74,373 units.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales declined 0.6 percent year-on-year to 1.52 lakh units, while light commercial vehicle sales increased 145.1 percent to 1,723 units in July.
