Greaves Electric launches Ampere Primus and Ampere Zeal EX electric scooters
Greaves Electric Mobility, the e-mobility business of Greaves Cotton Limited, on February 16 marked its foray into the high-speed electric two-wheeler segment with the launch of Ampere Primus at Rs 1,09,900 (ex-showroom price). The company also introduced the new Ampere Zeal EX, an entry-level, sporty e-scooter.

The new Zeal EX will debut at a price point of Rs 69,900 (ex-showroom price) in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand. The firm said buyers can avail of benefits of up to Rs 6,000 that are valid till March 31, 2023.
"The new scooter embodies the company’s ‘Make-in-India’ thrust, with a high degree of localisation with domestically sourced components," the firm said.

The Ampere Primus boasts top speeds of 77 kmph and has the ability to speed up to 40 kmph in under 5 seconds. It has a range of 100+ km on a full charge in power mode, which increases further in eco mode, the company said. Primus can be driven in four modes - eco, city, power, and reverse.
Greaves said the Ampere Primus scooter offers optimum safety with an LFP battery pack, improved performance with PMS motor (a cross of induction and brushless DC motor), belt drive, and smart connected cluster for seamless navigation. LFP battery is a type of lithium-ion battery using lithium iron phosphate as the cathode material and a graphitic carbon electrode with a metallic backing as the anode.
It is available in dual-tone body panels with a matte finish in four colours —Himalayan White, Royal Orange, Havelock Blue and Buck Black.

According to a release, the Zeal EX has a certified high range of 120 km. It will be equipped with a CAN-enabled Lithium-ion Battery, a large battery pack, multiple ride modes, and a side stand sensor, among others.
It will be available in three colours — Stone Grey, Ivory White, and Indigo Blue.
