We expect overall margin to be better this year, said Bharat Madan, Chief Financial Officer, Escorts Ltd.
Speaking exclusively to CNBC-TV18, Madan said, "We still maintain the overall guidance for the year for the industry and we have been maintaining that overall growth will be beating the industry numbers. Probably, June should be another good month for the industry."
"Overall demand looks good on the ground baring certain states especially Rajasthan, Karnataka, Maharashtra and parts of Madhya Pradesh. There are three-four states which are slightly under stress now, where we have not seen growth coming through,” he added.
Talking about railways business, he said, "Order book is strong there, so we continue to have Rs 350 crore plus order book.”
“This year, we are looking at margin expansion across all three verticals, whether it's railways, construction or tractors,” he further mentioned.
Escorts, one of India's leading tractor manufacturers, reported strong growth for tractor sales in May.
