EICMA 2023: What to expect from Royal Enfield, Hero Moto, Suzuki and KTM
As the world gears up for the Exhibition of International Motorcycle and Accessories (EICMA) 2023, Indian motorcycle brands are set to steal the show with their exciting new launches. From Royal Enfield's much-anticipated Himalayan 452 and their high-performance electric bike concept to Hero MotoCorp's new ADV Maxi-Scooter, here's a detailed look at the groundbreaking machines that are likely to steal the show at EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 452:
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452, the most anticipated entry-level ADV of 2023, is currently being tested in India and will make its public debut at EICMA. The 450 marks a new chapter for Royal Enfield with its first-ever liquid-cooled engine. The bike also features a fully digital TFT instrument cluster, along with smartphone connectivity, switchable ABS, and Google Maps integration. It also has long-travel USD forks and a mono-shock, along with 21/17-inch spoke wheels.
Royal Enfield Electric Bike Concept: According to Autocar, Royal Enfield plans to showcase a high-performance electric bike concept at EICMA 2023. The concept is likely to be an ADV, based on a new platform developed in collaboration with Stark Future. It’s believed that the new electric ADV concept could share its underpinnings with the Stark VARG, a dirt bike powered by either a 59 BHP or a 79 BHP electric motor and a 6.5 kWh battery.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, as the name suggests, belongs to the sub-500cc segment. It’s expected to have the same 449cc, twin-cylinder engine as the 450NK and 450SS, but with modifications to suit off-road characteristics. The engine is capable of producing 50 horsepower and 29 pound-feet.
Hero MotoCorp’s new ADV Maxi-Scooter: Hero MotoCorp is expected to unveil a new ADV-style maxi-scooter at EICMA 2023. The upcoming maxi-scooter is likely to feature a tall windscreen, dual headlamps, telescopic suspension at the front, and an upswept exhaust. It’s also expected to have a digital instrument console and features similar to those offered on other products in the segment. Reports suggest that the maxi-scooter could be powered by a 160cc, single-cylinder engine.
Suzuki GSX-S1000X: Suzuki has had a fruitful relationship with EICMA, debuting the all-new GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000GT in 2021, and the new middleweights–GSX-8S and V-Strom 800DE–last year. This year, the Hayabusa maker has type-approved a new GSX-S1000X. The adventure-type tourer will be the largest GSX-S offering in terms of dimensions. The X badge will bring with it a long-travel suspension setup, revealed via leaked spy shots, and an updated aesthetic, courtesy of a new headlight cowl, windscreen, luggage plate, and front fender.
KTM 1390 Super Duke: KTM is set to return to EICMA after a brief hiatus, with the 1390 Super Duke leading its reveals. The Super Duke is likely to get an all-new design, with spy shots revealing a more aggressive look, complete with vertically stacked projectors and fang-like DRLs. New additions include large tank shrouds, tail panels, and an integrated tail lamp, which comprises two LED indicators functioning as brake lights, hazard lamps, and turn signals.
MV Agusta: MV Agusta unveiled its Lucky Explorer 9.5 concept at EICMA 2021, which quickly made headlines. After two years, the company is set to present the production version of the 9.5 at this year’s EICMA. The bike will be MV Agusta’s first proper off-roader in a long time and will debut an all-new 931cc, inline-triple engine, with about 121 horsepower and 75.2 pound-feet. The bike will also feature a double-cradle chassis, long-travel Sachs suspension, and 21/18-inch spoke wheels.
CFMoto 450MT-X: CFMoto has teased the all-new 450MT-X just days ahead of the show. The bike will be the company’s first dedicated off-road motorcycle, designed to compete with the new RE Himalayan 450. The teasers reveal a proper rally bike-like design, including a tall front fender, flat saddle, spoke wheels, and extensive crash protection. The bike also features a vertically stacked dual projector headlight, flanked by a DRL.
