The December automobile sales numbers are expected to be better than or at least close to last year's, according to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA).

The comments come after the domestic automobile sales dropped 12 percent year-on-year in November after a brief festive cheer in October, as the data released by the Society of Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on Tuesday showed.
"December is always good at discounts because we see year-end sales happening... so 2019 model will be shifting and January would be 2020. So to liquidate all the 2019 models or of the last year models, there has been always a good discount. This time it is the best," said Vinkesh Gulati, vice president of FADA, adding that the discount levels this time were higher than what we have seen during the festive season.
“The retails (sales) haven’t yet started but the kind of inquiry pool we are looking, the interest the customers are showing towards the good schemes that have been announced... we will be seeing a better December or the similar December like last year,” Gulati added.
Gulati also added that there was an increase of 50 percent in the schemes announced this year.
“For passenger vehicles, you will easily get discounts starting from Rs 50,000 to 1,00,000 per unit depending on which model you are choosing and what kind of inventory the dealers are carrying in that model... two-wheeler entry bike is having around Rs 3,000-4,000 per unit and a premium bike is having around Rs 7,000-8,000 per unit discount,” he further mentioned.
