Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 between January 17 and 22, govt says no plans to end existing auto shows
India is slated to host the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 from January 17 to 22 at three locations in the National Capital Region (NCR): Yashobhoomi, Bharat Mandapam and the India Expo Centre and Mart.

Explaining the rationale behind declaring the dates nearly 10 months in advance, Joint Secretary with the Department of Commerce, Vipul Bansal, pointed out that the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 was organised within 3 months of the idea being conceived, and the industry had suggested that the event could've been scaled up in a bigger way with more time to prepare.
Bansal told CNBC-TV18 that more time would allow the event to be better placed in global calendars, as there are similar auto industry-related shows going on across the world throughout the year. While terming Bharat Mobility 2024 a success, he explained that blocking dates in advance will alert the global value chain and potentially attract more products and global buyers.
He assured that the government isn't trying to merge or discard the existing auto shows in view of the effort that has gone into making such brands globally recognisable, over the years. He agreed that industry associations are protective of brands they've created over decades, which include AutoExpo, Automechanika, the Annual Auto Show or Excon.
Bansal termed Bharat Mobility as an overall brand where each association with their respective brands will participate. The initiative aims to bring several incidental advantages that the government wants the industry to benefit from, he added.
Clarifying that no targets have been laid down by the government under its role as a facilitator of the Expo, Bansal said that the government is financially supporting the industry-led initiative through a market access scheme to make the show bigger. He highlighted that the industry was doing everything right from conceptualisation to contact with global buyers and supply chains. He also stressed on the need to put up a good show to encash the opportunity being offered by market forces.
