Honda Motors today launched its first BS VI compliant two-wheeler, the Activa 125. CNBC-TV18 caught up with Yadvendra Singh Guleria, senior vice-president of HMSI, and Minoru Kato, the president and CEO of HMSI to discuss the company's new launch and their views on the government's push for adoption of electric vehicles.

Guleria said: "Honda is on plan, on schedule for the launch of the line-up which will be upgraded to BS-VI. It is going to happen in a stepwise manner. The mass production of Activa 125 BS-VI is already ready and towards the end of second quarter this will be the first mass production model which will be launched in the market and followed by that there are other launches which are already scheduled."
Guleria added: "May be it is a little too early because there are other points which need to be discussed as a clear roadmap for very smooth introduction of electric vehicles. BS-VI already is a huge investment and a big step because there is no BS-V which has happened."
