Honda Cars India will launch the much-awaited variant of its popular sedan Civic today, reported Gaadiwaadi.com.
The model, which was sold across the country between 2012 and 2016, is expected to get widespread attention from prospective customers and enthusiasts, the report said.
The new Civic will come in both petrol and diesel variants and will be powered by either a 1.6-litre turbocharged Earth Dreams four-cylinder diesel engine and 300 Nm of peak torque or 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol powertrain.
While the diesel variant will only come in a six-speed manual transmission, the report added that the company may later look to come up a with the automatic diesel version.
The new version, which was first introduced during last year’s auto expo, is expected to make a high impact in the market that is currently dominated by models like Toyota Corolla Altis, Hyundai Elantra and Skoda Octavia, said the report.
