Fresh round of talks between farmer unions and the government are underway. 41 farmer leaders are representing the farm unions while Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State for Commerce Som Prakash are representing the government.
The farmers are sticking to their position that any discussion between the two sides must only centre around a four-point agenda that includes the modalities of repealing the three farm laws and a legal guarantee for a higher minimum support price.
