Salman Rushdie honoured at first in-person public appearance in New York after stabbing incident

"Well, hi everybody. It’s nice to be back—as opposed to not being back, which was also an option. I’m pretty glad the dice rolled this way,” said writer Salman Rushdie, who was honoured with the PEN Centenary Courage Award. This was Rushdie's first in-person public appearance after he was stabbed and severely wounded in a knife attack at a literary event in New York last year.
