Cathy Li, Head of the AI Data and Metaverse Division at the World Economic Forum, believes that robotics will emerge as the next frontier in the technology sector. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Li expressed her belief in the continued development of multimodal models and their application in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics.
Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Li said, “We will continue to see the kind of multimodality development of the model that's being unfold right now. And we will see the model is powering let it be AI agents, let it be robotics, that's going to be the next frontier as well.”
Regarding the global AI race, Li refrained from singling out any specific country as the leader, acknowledging the United States' prominent position due to its extensive history of innovation and research and development. She also lauded India's ambitious AI mission, emphasising its comprehensive approach to AI innovation and its impact on stimulating the startup ecosystem.
