Beverage company Globus Spirit on Thursday said they expect the capacity utilisation to go up by a few percents and country liquor is growing at about 6-8 percent.
“As far as the demand growth for country liquor is concerned, in a state like West Bengal, we are seeing well over 15 percent growth rates quarter-on-quarter (Q-o-Q). Rajasthan which is a larger base for us, we are expecting towards the end of the year the growth to catch up to about 4-5 percent in terms of total industry growth. So all in all, country liquor is growing at about 6-8 percent as an industry," said Shekhar Swarup, joint MD, Globus Spirits.
As far as the demand goes, the company is seeing very healthy demand for the consumer business in the bottom of the pyramid country liquor price points, said Swarup.
“Our capacity utilisation has always been above 90 percent throughout our recent history and we expect that to continue, maybe go up a few percent points,” he added.
