Yes Bank's selection panel has recommended two names for the post of MD and CEO to the Reserve Bank of India, multiple sources told CNBC-TV18.
According to the sources, who did not want to be names, the priority has been given to the external candidate. The internal name that has been suggested for the post is Rajat Monga, senior group president at Yes Bank.
The sources added that the committee chose the two names out of about eight names that were considered as the potential candidates.
Rajesh Sud, the former MD of Max Life Insurance, one of the shortlisted candidates to succeed Rana Kapoor, reportedly pulled out of the race.
Yes Bank is yet to respond to CNBC-TV18's query.
In October, RBI had said that a successor to Yes Bank’s MD and CEO Kapoor be appointed by February 1, 2019.
