Indian rapper and hip-hop heavyweight Badshah, is throwing his hat into the hospitality ring, teaming up with Babita Puri Gupta and Udayveer Gupta to launch three spots in the heart of Chandigarh's Sector-26.
Badshah's culinary venture includes Sago Spice Symphony, an Indian fine dining joint; Seville, a Continental Lebanese spot; and Sidera, a pan-Asian cocktail bar in the basement. The setup spans 9,000 square feet and aims to attract foodies with diverse tastes.
Sago Spice Symphony goes for an earthy, family-friendly vibe with terracotta, gold, and marble touches. Seville channels Spanish vibes with rustic chandeliers and an open-sky roof. Sidera caters to the after-hours crowd with leather, LED lights, and a backlit marble and onyx bar.
The menu, cooked up by chefs from across India, serves up a mix of traditional and modern dishes. Badshah's menu picks include Classic Mapo Tofu and Multani Bhuna Paneer. The cocktail menu gets experimental with drinks like Grecian Glaze and Temple Run, with Badshah even having a namesake drink.
In his own words, Badshah said, "I love food as much as I love music. Excited to jump into this new adventure and bring something different to the table."
Udayveer Gupta, the venture's co-founder, aims to blend cultural influences, saying, "I want to showcase my global experiences through great food and a unique dining vibe."
Beyond the beats, Badshah has a track record in the business world, from investing in a Mumbai nightclub to dabbling in Punjabi films and launching BADFIT, his clothing line. With this latest move, Badshah is serving up more than just music—adding a pinch of tradition and a dash of modernity to Chandigarh's food scene.
