Xiaomi has announced that its latest user interface, the HyperOS will be available to Indian users starting January 2024.
Breaking the news in a post on X, the company also shared that the Xiaomi 13 Pro and the Xiaomi Pad 6 will be the first devices to receive the update.
HyperOS is Xiaomi’s improvement on its previous UI called the MIUI. The first edition of the interface will be based on Android 14. It is safe to assume that all Xiaomi devices that are due for the update should receive a gradual over-the-air update to be able to experience the HyperOS.
Xiaomi’s first electric car, dubbed the SU7, will also run on the HyperOS interface. When Xiaomi first introduced HyperOS in October 2023 in China, it said the interface will put “people in the center of an ecosystem” and would not be just limited to smartphones. The company has reportedly been working on the software since 2014. It is said to be designed keeping internet of things (IoT) in mind.
It was first released in China alongside the Xiaomi 14 series. Some even consider the design of the interface to be similar to that of Apple’s iOS — from the lock screen to the notification pop-ups and the control centre.
