iQOO, a Vivo sub-brand, is all set to launch its mid-range smartphone iQOO Z9 5G in the Indian market next month, the Chinese brand announced on Monday, February 26. In a post on social media site X, iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya said iQOO Z9 5G will make its debut in the country on March 12.
“Calling all #GenZ fam! #FullyLoaded #iQOOZ9 in the house! Guess the processor name and tag 5 homies to win some exciting #iQOO goodies,” he wrote.
A dedicated microsite on Amazon has already started teasing the design and other specifications of
iQOO's new Z-series smartphone. The teaser features a green finish and dual rear camera setup on the handset.
The iQOO Z9 5G will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC and is expected to be the successor to last year's iQoo Z7 5G.
As per
iQOO's official website, the iQOO Z9 5G will be the first smartphone in the mid-range segment to be equipped with the Dimensity 7200 SoC chipset.
The brand stated that the smartphone has scored a benchmark of 7,34,000 points on AnTuTu 10 while adding that other handsets in this range, which come with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Dimensity 6080, can score a benchmark of 5,90,000 on the platform.
The company had earlier confirmed that the new smartphone would be equipped with a Sony IMX882 sensor, which supports optical image stabilisation (OIS).
According to reports, the
iQOO Z9 5G was recently spotted on Geekbench with model number I2302 and scored 1,186 points and 2,683 points in single-core and multi-core tests.
Moreover, it has been rumoured that the device will be backed by 8GB of RAM and will come with the Android 14 operating system out of the box.
The device is expected to boast a 1.5K OLED display and a 6,000mAh battery. The iQOO Z9 5G is rumoured to be available for less than ₹25,000 in India.
Last year, the iQOO Z7 5G was launched for ₹18,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.
