India's young entrepreneurs outside of the big cities are making their mark on the world of business. The latest example is Kisan Bagaria, a promising young talent from Dibrugarh, Assam, whose all-in-one messaging app has netted him a whopping Rs 416 crore deal.
Bagaria's Texts.com has been acquired by Matt Mullenweg, the founder of Automattic Inc., renowned for WordPress.com, for $50 million. Not just that, Mullenweg also highlighted Bagaria's remarkable talent, calling him a "generational tech genius" with a lasting influence in the tech industry.
WordPress.com and Tumblr owner Automattic is adding another company to its portfolio with today’s news that it has acquired the all-in-one messaging app Texts.com for $50 million.
The app brings all your messaging apps together in a single dashboard, including iMessage, Slack, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Messenger, LinkedIn, Signal, Discord and X, with plans for more in the future, a company blog post announced.
With the acquisition, Texts.com founder Kishan Bagaria will join the company as the new head of messaging, along with the rest of the distributed Texts.com team.
