One of the finest all-rounders ever to play for India, Yuvraj Singh celebrates his 42nd birthday today. Yuvraj was adjudged player of the tournament in India’s victorious 2011 ODI World Cup campaign. He also played a key role in India’s 2007 T20 World Cup triumph. Yuvraj, who retired from all forms of cricket in 2019, has played 304 ODIs, 40 Test matches, and 58 T20s.
Yuvraj Singh, fondly called Yuvi, was born on December 12, 1981 in Chandigarh. At a tender age, Yuvraj used to play tennis and roller skating. He had even won the National Under-14 Roller Skating Championship in Chandigarh. But eventually, Yuvraj found his calling in cricket.
Yuvraj Singh played for Punjab Under-16 team at the age of 13. In international cricket, Yuvraj made his debut against Kenya in an ODI match back in October 2000. He became the first player to hit the maximum number of sixes in a single over in a T20I match. He achieved this feat during a T20 World Cup match against England while facing pacer Stuart Broad back in 2007.
