DHFL shares tank 24 percent on mismanagement claims

Investigative media outlet Cobrapost alleged in a report that a large amount secured from state banks was diverted by Dewan to shell companies.

Shares of home loan provider Dewan Housing Finance Corp Ltd (DHFL) fell for the fifth straight session on Friday, a day after it appointed an "independent" auditor to investigate allegations of financial mismanagement against the company.
DHFL shares fell as much as 23.8 percent to Rs 103.35 per share. The Mumbai-headquartered company was the second most heavily traded stock on the National Stock Exchange. At 2.12pm, the stock was down 19.62 percent to Rs 109.20 per share.
