Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath leads from Gorakhpur seat by over 31,000 votes

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is contesting his first assembly election, did not seem to be getting much fight from rivals on the Gorakhpur seat. According to updated Election Commission figures, Adityanath has secured 47,427 votes while his nearest rival, Samajwadi Party's Subhawati Shukla, bagged 16,427 votes.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was heading for a landslide victory and leading by around 31,000 votes from Gorakhpur Urban seat on Thursday. According to updated Election Commission figures, Adityanath has secured 47,427 votes while his nearest rival, Samajwadi Party's Subhawati Shukla, bagged 16,427 votes.
The BSP's Khwaja Shamsuddin has secured 3,151 votes and Chandra Shekhar of Azad Samaj Party 2,619 votes. Chetna Pandey of the Congress was struggling with 685 votes while the AAP's Vijay Kumar Shrivastava secured 321 votes, according to the updated figures.
A total of 381 NOTA votes was polled so far in the key constituency. Adityanath, contesting his first assembly election, did not seem to be getting much fight from rivals on the Gorakhpur seat.
