Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, vying for a third term in office, has garnered considerable approval in the 'Jat land'. About 91% of respondents in Haryana expressed satisfaction with PM Modi and his Cabinet's performance, the poll said.
This is in sharp contrast to the 12% of respondents who are dissatisfied with the current MPs. According to the findings, job creation emerged as the primary concern for 62% of respondents, closely followed by inflation (59%), law and order (53%), and corruption (20%).
Reflecting on economic sentiments, 85% of voters perceived an improvement in their economic conditions over the past five years, with an optimistic 86% anticipating further enhancement in the coming year.
Haryana recently witnessed a political upheaval as Manohar Lal Khattar and his Cabinet resigned. Nayab Singh Saini, the State BJP chief, assumed the mantle of chief minister, securing a vote of confidence. Haryana's parliamentary makeup comprises 10 constituencies, with two reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates—Ambala and Sirsa.
In the 2019 elections, the BJP swept all 10 seats in Haryana, marking its most successful electoral performance in the state to date. Conversely, in the 2014 elections, the ruling BJP clinched seven seats, with
Congress securing only one seat and the Indian National Lok Dal securing two.
