The Election Commission of India (ECI) declared the poll dates for the coming
Lok Sabha elections on Saturday. It will be held in seven phases starting April 19. The results will be declared on June 4.
Karnataka will go to polls in two stages- on April 26 and May 7. Nearly
970 million people are eligible to cast their votes in the upcoming polls at over 1.2 million polling stations. Polling will be held in seven stages in West Bengal and three states.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP got 25 seats, and the NDA alliance bagged 26 in total. The Congress-JD alliance got two seats.
In Karnataka, after being ousted from power by the Congress in the 2023 Assembly polls, the BJP now is making a strong bid to regain the lost ground.
