The Election Commission on Saturday, March 16, announced that the upcoming polls for the Lok Sabha (the lower house of the Indian Parliament), as well as simultaneous elections to four states, will be held in seven phases starting April 19.
Twenty two states will vote for Lok Sabha candidates in the first phase on April 19. The results will be announced on June 4.
