Mallikarjun Kharge proposed as PM face for INDIA by Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal

Mallikarjun Kharge, after the Opposition INDIA bloc meeting in Delhi on Tuesday, December 19, said the alliance partners will now focus on seat-sharing talks at the state level and hold public meetings across the country. 'We have to win first, and think what to do to win,' he said.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's name was proposed as the prime ministerial candidate of the united opposition by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the INDIA group meet on Tuesday (December 19), MDMK Chief Vaiko said. However, media reports citing sources, have reported there was no final decision on the issue.

However, Kharge, after the meeting in Delhi, said the alliance partners will now focus on seat-sharing talks at the state level and hold public meetings across the country. He stressed that any decision on the prime ministerial candidate will be taken after the elections.

"All INDIA parties unanimously decided how to take the alliance forward. At least 8-10 meetings will be done together across the country,” Kharge said.
