Prime Miniser Narendra Modi on Tuesday, October 24, took to social media platform X, to wish all his followers a Happy Vijaya Dashami.
Vijaya Dashami is another term for the Hindu festival Dussehra, which is celebrated every year at the end of Navratri.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) also holds its annual Vijayadashmi Utsav on this day. On Tuesday, it started with the 'path sanchalan' (route march) of the RSS workers in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat later addressed the Utsav saying every year, India's pride keeps increasing in the world. He said the hospitality of Indians was praised across the world during the G20 Summit this year. He later also spoke about the Ram temple in Ayodhya, where the God's idol would be installed in January 22.
Musician Shankar Mahadevan is the chief guest at the RSS foundation day event. As per reports, he is also going to compose the RSS anthem on a larger ensemble and make it reach the global audience.
Mahadevan told The Times Of India over the weekend that Bhagwat, an accomplished musician himself, is keen on composers using Indian ragas, rather than relying on western music, in their work.
